Last year’s popular Korean drama, “Secret Garden,” will be made into a movie in China.

Earlier in the week, a press conference was held for the Chinese film version of “Secret Garden.” During the event the focus was on singer Kangta, who was in attendance, and who would be playing one of the lead roles.

Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won were originally cast as the star-crossed lovers Kim Joo Won and Gil Ra Im. Wallace Chung and Tan Wei Wei will have big shoes to fill as they are to portray Joo Won and Ra Im in the movie version. It also was announced that Kangta will play the part of Oska, Joo Won’s famous pop-star cousin, in the film.

The Chinese version of “Secret Garden” is set to plunge forward with their full-fledged filming schedule beginning this month.

This version of the popular series has been making headlines both in China as well as in Korea. Fans are wondering if the film will be able to match the popularity of the original drama series. The leads said that the pressure may be great but they are willing to take on the challenge.
